Copy & paste over RDP

Sometimes copy & paste does not work in RDP sessions - and I always wondered why it's working sometimes. Luckily the internet has answers to this, so let me repeat the short version here:

From time to time, rdpclip.exe on the server stops working and has to be restarted.

There's a longer (and more ridiculous) answer from Microsoft, too.
